24 Nairobi
24 Nairobi is intended as a showcase of a modern
African city through the eyes of its own photographers.
A lot of times cities in Africa are viewed through the narrow
lenses and stories of missionaries, career war photographers
and aid workers. 24 Nairobi brings together local, regional
and international creative professionals to evolve powerful
and realistic images and narratives that would reflect the
working-life diversity, cultures, energy and dimensions of
cities in Africa. This is an alternative, innovative,
realistic and professional African perspective. All the
photographers reside in Nairobi and grew up or now call
Nairobi home.

Mini Fridge
Like any other appliance, a mini
fridge can stop working, developing issues that
need a plan of action. Because of the convenience the compact
refrigerator offers, many people take them for granted, not
knowing precisely how to handle it if the fridge develops
issues. Here are some common issues that come with owning a
compact refrigerator, together with some concepts to help
alleviate the issues.
First, be certain to put the fridge directly in front
of an outlet, against the wall, and be sure the plugged in
cord isn't visible. Place a tiny chair next to the fridge and
cover the fridge with a decorative tablecloth or linen of some
kind. If done correctly, this transforms the compact
refrigerator into a side table, keeping people from becoming
suspicious.
A compact refrigerator does not have a self-defrost
feature, however DOES have a freezer compartment in the top of
the fridge. This makes for a very thick layer of frost that
can completely block access to the freezer. This can be
remedied by unplugging and emptying the fridge temporarily,
allowing the frost and ice to melt. Wrapping an old blanket or
towels around the base of the fridge will help in soaking up
the leaking water.
If a compact refrigerator isn't completely wiped out
and cleaned on a very regular basis, mold can grow, causing a
musty smell. The mold will grow on the food as well as the
entire interior of the fridge, mainly because mold thrives in
a dark, moist environment. A homemade solution of white
vinegar and water will dispose of the mold and also the musty
smell that comes with it.
A mini fridge is a necessity in several instances, and
allows people to store food and drinks while not taking up
much space. Because some buildings have rules against the use
of compact refrigerators, it is best to check with the
landlord or dorm supervisor before getting the appliance. If
owning a fridge is permitted, be sure to buy a unit that will
enhance the living situation.
Rebuilt Engines
Test-driving a car offers a potential car buyer
insight on the condition of the cars brakes, as well as other
obvious functions. However, the drive will not verify if the
engine is new or used, or more importantly, in good long-term
working order. With a professionals help, rebuilt engines can be validated and
tested to determine the quality of the rebuild.
To check for a refurbished engine, first open the hood
and find the vehicle identification number. Prior to 1981, it
was not a prerequisite for cars to feature the 17-digit code;
however, newer cars SHOULD have the code imprinted on the
block of the engine. The code identifies the car, confirming
the year, model, make, and city of assembly.
Engines that are rebuilt with new parts are much more
expensive, but oftentimes a guaranty comes with the engine.
Engines with good parts are cheaper and do not supply a
warranty, but depending on the mechanic, can be just as well
built as a more expensive model. Upon deciding whether a new
or used engine is preferable, it's time to begin shopping
around.
Next, visit an auto shop store and purchase new parts,
adding them to the supplies, together with the needed cleaned,
old parts. Using the engine guide, rebuild and reassemble,
using the notes and pictures to help in the process. It is
important to test the engine after each step, which will keep
a person from having to re-disassemble the engine and begin
from scratch.
Rebuilt engines can be expensive, but sometimes the
additional cash spent ensures a good, quality product. But,
there are times when a less expensive version ought to
suffice, especially if the mechanic has experience with engine
repair. Asking around and doing a little investigating will
help determine which route to go and help to secure a superior
engine.
